Speed Color Match: a quick color challenge

How the game works

First you study a target color. When you start the match, the target disappears and a ten-second countdown begins while you rebuild it with three sliders: Hue, Saturation and Lightness. You can submit early to bank the remaining time, or let the clock run out and settle automatically. The result is a match percentage shown beside the original target.

What this challenge trains

This combines recall with control under pressure: you must hold the target in memory while translating it into three numeric dimensions, fast. A good rhythm is hue first, then saturation, then lightness — each dimension narrows the search for the next. Panic-adjusting all three at once usually overshoots; one calm pass plus one correction beats five twitchy ones.

Before you compare results

Every target is generated fresh, and the countdown restarts each attempt, so no two matches are the same. A dim screen or night mode makes fine lightness steps harder to judge, and ten seconds leaves no room to adapt your eyes. The percentage is feedback about this attempt on this display, not a clinical measure of color ability.
