Memory Stack: a quick color challenge

How the game works

A short row of colors appears in a fixed left-to-right order. You study it, hide it, then rebuild the sequence by picking swatches from a candidate pool that includes decoys. The row starts at two colors and grows to five, then stays at five for as long as you keep going. Selections lock in order and the round submits automatically once the row is full.

What this challenge trains

This layers order on top of recall: remembering the colors is only half the task, because the same swatch in the wrong slot is still wrong. Chunking helps — name the row as a tiny story ("navy, mint, mustard") instead of holding three anonymous sensations. At five colors with decoys in the pool, the game stops being trivial surprisingly fast.

Before you compare results

Rows, decoys and pool arrangements are regenerated every round, and the growth path means difficulty ratchets with you rather than cycling a fixed deck. Study time is yours to control, but screen brightness shapes what you encode before hiding. Your progress is feedback about working memory under these viewing conditions, not a cognitive or vision diagnosis.
