Color Sequence: a quick color challenge

How the game works

Six colored pads sit in a fixed grid. Press play and they flash in a sequence; your job is to tap the pads back in the same order. Sequences start at three flashes and grow by one each round you survive. Any wrong tap ends the round immediately, and the pad you should have pressed is outlined so the mistake is visible rather than mysterious.

What this challenge trains

This is a visuospatial span task: you are binding colors to positions and order at the same time. The classic technique is rehearsal — whisper the sequence as it plays ("red, blue, blue, yellow") to offload it from pure visual memory. Because the pads never move, spatial rhythm matters as much as color; many players remember the pattern as a shape their finger traces.

Before you compare results

Each sequence is generated fresh and the flash order never repeats by design, so every round is a new span test rather than a memorized pattern. Flash timing is fixed, but a laggy or dim screen can make flashes harder to track. Your longest sequence is feedback about attention and span on this device, not a measure of ability or vision.
